Appeals & Grievances Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)
Sacramento-area | Healthcare | $22-$25/hr DOE
A well-established healthcare organization is seeking an Appeals & Grievances Specialist I for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role supports the intake, review, and resolution of member appeals and grievances in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Intake, research, and processing of appeals and grievances
  • Triage cases, identify urgency, and manage regulatory timelines
  • Collaborate with internal teams, providers, and external partners to gather documentation
  • Prepare clear, accurate written correspondence and case documentation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and privacy standards

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in appeals & grievances, claims, utilization management, or related healthcare administrative roles
  • Managed care or HMO experience strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working across multiple systems in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
